U.S. Reps. Susan Brooks (R-IN), Mimi Walters (R-CA), and Randy Hultgren (R-IL) on Aug. 20 marked the launch of the new bipartisan Startup Week Across America campaign to spotlight the role new companies play in boosting the nation’s economy.
The lawmakers said Congress must ensure startups are encouraged to grow, and they are committed to providing new businesses with resources for continued success.

Walters said. “Startup Week Across America is a great opportunity to connect with local entrepreneurs and highlight their contributions to our communities.”
In 2017, startup businesses accounted for nearly 9.5 percent of all private-sector firms in the United States, according to a joint statement from the lawmakers.
